BasEl to quadruple investment in agriculture in 2012

Oleg Deripaska's Basic Element plans to invest around 400 million rubles in agriculture development in 2012, compared to 100 million rubles in 2011,said Andrei Oleinik, the head of BasEl's agriculture division . The Kuban agriculture holding, one of BasEl's key agriculture assets, will continue construction of a farm for 60,000 pigs and a soybean processing plant, he said.

Russian robots in Abu Dhabi

The winners of Robofest-2011 (a joint programme organized by Oleg Deripaska's Volnoe Delo Foundation and Rosmolodezh) attended this years World Robotic Olympics. The Olympics were held in Abu Dhabi, on November 17 through 21.  It brought together 377 teams from 35 countries.  Russia was represented by 23 teams from Moscow, Ulyanovsk, Nadym, Zheleznogorsk and Chelyabinsk regions.  The national team did well in the qualifying matches - almost all the teams made the top 16 in their category.

UC RUSAL announces the development and launch of a unique magnetic hydrodynamic mixer which will enable the Krasnoyarsk aluminium smelter's cast house to extend its alloy product range. The cost of the new equipment amounts to USD 2 million.
