The GAZ Group is Russia's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer. Its main products are light commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, buses, road construction machinery, engines and fuel equipment.

The Russian Machines automobile manufacturing assets include the production, sales and service units of the GAZ Group, Russia's biggest automotive holding.

The GAZ Group was established in 2005 following the restructuring of assets run by OJSC RusPromAvto, which had existed since 2001. The company is headquartered in Nizhny Novgorod.

The GAZ Group includes the flagship enterprise OJSC GAZ (Gorky Automobile Plant), 18 automobile factories in Russia, and sales and service organizations. The GAZ Group's factories are located in ten Russian regions.

 

The key enterprises are:

Gorky Automobile Plant (Nizhny Novgorod), Russia's largest producer of light commercial vehicles, goods vehicles and cars (Gazelle, Sobol, Valday, Sadko, Volga).

Pavlovo Bus Plant (Nizhny Novgorod region), manufacture PAZ buses and is the Russian market leader in small and medium size city-buses, commuter and long-distance transportation.

Likino Bus Plant (Likino-Dulevo, Moscow region) produces LiAZ city-buses, and is the biggest Russian producer of city buses.

Avtodiesel (Yaroslavl) is the largest producer of diesel engines and diesel-generating units (YaMZ trademark) in Russia.

Ural Automobile Plant (Miass, Chelyabinsk region) produces Ural heavy on- and off-road trucks.

Tver Excavator Factory (Tver) is the Russian leader in production of track and wheel-mounted excavators (TvEX).

 

In line with an agreement between GAZ Group and Renault Trucks Company, the production of heavy diesel engines was transferred from Lyon in France to one of Avtodiesel's sites in the city of Yaroslavl.

Projects are currently being carried out at the GAZ Group's Yaroslavl sites to produce the full range of diesel engines for commercial transport. The TERZ site at Avtodiesel is already producing the powerful YaMZ-650 Euro-4 standard diesel engine. Preparations are being made to produce the YaMZ-530 and the Dci 11.

GAZ Group announces 2011 IFRS results

In 2011 GAZ Group achieved the highest results in the history of the company in terms of net profit, net profit margin, and revenue per employee.

In 2011 the revenue of the company increased by 37%, EBITDA – by 49%, and net profit – by 4 times.

Bo Andersson, President/CEO of GAZ Group: “In 2011 we fulfilled all tasks that we had aimed at strengthening the company’s competitiveness. We increased sales, considerably improved financial results, renewed the model range and started implementation of joint projects with international automakers”.
